Hear Me Out

Empowering children to find their voice is a focus at Hill Avenue Primary Academy.  We inspire children to want to talk in a safe and welcoming space so they have the confidence to talk. 

Our school promotes oracy, developing the children’s ability to discuss and debate, solve problems, understand the views of others, pose and ask questions as well as making links in their learning through well-established schemas.

At Hill Avenue we pride ourselves in exploratory, experiential learning promoting a culture of deep thinking of what, how and why... in real contexts to create a love of life long learning.

As part of our provision we empower our least confident children to find their voice and understand that what they have to say is valued and important all the way to challenging our most confident speakers through additional opportunities such as Hill Avenue Hosting 'Hear Me Out'.  The debating topics are selected from the children's interests for example, should children be allowed to drink 'PRIME'? or should school have a 6 day week? 

For children to be the leaders of the future they must be passionate and authentic, this will only grow from healthy REAL debate.
